Overview
My commercial experience aside (refer to the employment section); having lived in China in 2006 it became apparent how difficult it was for me to learn another language – for everyday situations – without feeling isolated or frustrated. This gave me a valuable insight into how difficult it must be for non native English residents to learn our language and live in the UK. On my return to the UK in late 2006, I helped people to learn English (written, and spoken) on a non qualified ‘ad hoc’ basis.
In early December 2009 I was made redundant from my position as Corporate Relations Leader (£35k per annum) - presenting me with the exciting opportunity of identifying a new, fresh challenge.
I proceeded to take the TEFL qualification and qualified last December 2009 and am now proactively marketing my language services to private students, language schools or organisations. The nationalities of my current students are; Thai, French, Sudanese and Arabian. |
