Teaching Experience
Director’s Assistant/Co-Choreographer (June 2008–November 2009)
Arkansas Repertory Theatre (601 Main Street, Little Rock, AR 72201)
· Helped direct two camps of young artists ranging in age from nine to twenty-three.
· Presented pre-planned dance material for the director and fellow co-choreographers a week prior to the start of camp.
· Choreographed and taught several musical theatre-style dances as part of full musical revue.
· Evaluated young artists’ areas of needed improvement and worked with them, as needed, to ensure understanding of the material.
Visiting Artist (November 2008–December 2008)
Tulsa Arts and Humanities Council (2210 South Main Street, Tulsa, OK 74114)
· Acted as an ambassador of the Arts and Humanities Council by teaching hip-hop dance to an aftercare group at a local public elementary school.
· Taught on-location at the school 3 times a week for several weeks, concluding with two performances in front of the student body and family members.
· Cooperated with the Arts and Humanities Council and the school to complete all necessary paperwork, including evaluations by the students and the aftercare supervisor.
· Encouraged students to take ownership of their learning by sharing their individual dance experience with the rest of the class. |
