Personal statement
During my time at university I have developed a high standard of both written and verbal communication skills alongside essential education experience. I have been able to take part in a challenging legal environment, furthering my education through individual and group tasks often under pressure and within strict time limits.
University has also allowed me to take advantage of activities outside of education. Throughout my education I have taken part in a variety of social events, been on numerous sports teams and even helped establish and become one of the leading members of a now widely established university sports society.
I am always willing to take on new tasks and I am keen to further these experiences in a completely different environment as I believe it will offer an entirely new outlook and give me new opportunities to explore and participate in.
Education
- Currently studying: 3 Year Law Honors Degree, Northumbria University
September 2006 - Present day
A three year full-time course encompassing regular practice mooting, litigation workshops and court visits. Past projects have included live client work, which involves me interviewing a live client, and following up the case through attendance notices, research reports, through to possible advocacy, mediation and subsequent trial. This and other projects bring together a wide spectrum of subjects enabling me to gain real legal experience at the university.
The course has also provided a progression to a practice student law office involving live case work. This is a real legal office that is hosted by the university allowing real cases and advice to be given whilst also giving students invaluable experience.
