To improve my student’s level of Oral English, I make use of audiovisual aids such as PowerPoint; music and Slide presentations. My teaching methodology is to begin every class with warm- up session, followed by introducing a topic and eliciting information and feedback from my classes.
Group work and individual interaction in class is also encouraged to improve the students/learners Oral English capabilities.
As part of the College curriculum, I have been involved with the English festival; proofreading written material such as traditional Chinese poems translated into English and a new Tourism handbook.
Additional experience: During 2007-2009, I have taught a number of students English on a part-time and private basis. Generally the classes were to improve the students/learners level of Oral English. However I have helped in teaching or helping the students understand aspects of Grammar including phrasal verbs, tenses etc.
The National Trust: From November 2003- May 2004, I worked for the National Trust as part of a placement. Besides my general duties, I also instructed members of the public about the different historical aspects of the properties and the history of the local area. |
