Personal Statement
I worked as an English teacher in China for over a year during 2006/07, whilst on a gap year from University. I taught in both a private English school and a college, this meant I gained experience teaching all age groups, from kindergarten and school students right up to adults.
Upon completion of this work I returned to the UK to finish the final year of my course at University. After graduation I helped found a start-up digital media company with four other recent graduates.
I am entrepreneurial in nature and have developed a range of business based skills and knowledge. I also have good communication skills from managing personnel within the company. My partner is Chinese and I have a good knowledge of Chinese culture and speak and understand a basic amount of Mandarin.
