Dear Director,
I've always enjoyed assisting people in understanding, and after completing my TESOL/TESL certification this September, I am now looking forward to beginning my teaching career. I am writing to apply for a position with your school as a teacher of English as a Second Language for students of any age.
I believe an effective teacher must be flexible, patient, enthusiastic, organized and committed, and I can confidently say that I posses all of these traits. As a teacher I will provide a supportive, fun and professional environment, addressing the needs of all my students.
My experience in the Military has helped me build up a variety of skills. I have had a lot of experience teaching my fellow soldiers and helping anyone who is having a hard time in training. One of my greatest joys is assisting people who want to quit when training is hard, and helping them through to the end. Leadership, motivation and attention to detail are key components to an effective soldier and umpire, and the skills I have acquired in these professions will greatly assist me in leading a classroom.
