Language Trainer
I was offered a position as a “conversatore” to prepare students for their Trinity Examination. I was asked to invent a multimedia, interactive course which could make the course more interesting to the students. The English Podcasting course was a success and the students created podcasts based on their Trinity exam requirements. http://trinity7.synthasite.com/ The students found the course to be fun and educative.
I continued to work at this wonderful school for over two years as a Trinity teacher. I achieved 100% pass rates on all exams. This was a very satisfying and highly enjoyable job. I left this job in order to move back to the U.K to continue my studies. I worked on a part-time basis, along with another job (see below)

Selex Galileo – Palermo, Italy May 2008-March 2010
In-House Language Trainer.
I worked for two years as a part-time language trainer at Selex Galileo, a company that makes radar systems for helicopters and navigational systems. I taught a business-based English course to all personnel, from administrative level right up to managers and Directors. I left this job in order to move back to the U.K to continue my studies.

Inlingua Language School – Palermo, Italy July 2007–May 2008
Language Trainer.
Upon completing a grammar test during the selection process for this position as an English teacher, I underwent Business English teacher training course. My role was primarily as an English Trainer, working with Adults and Children in groups and individual classes. The courses varied between general English and Business English. I decided to leave this job in order to accept a well-paid position at a secondary school.

British Telecom – Global Help Desk, Liverpool May 2006 – June 2007
Global Help Desk Languages and I.T Analyst
I spent 1 year working in the Global Help desk team. My tasks were to receive calls from the BT global network and resolve hardware and software queries over the telephone and via remote internet access. I mainly received calls in Italian and Spanish colleagues but also from BT offices in countries. This job required excellent language and communication skills and a high level of computer knowledge. We were given a one-month training course before going live on the help-desk.I left this job to go and work in Italy so I could improve my Italian language skills.

Junior Translator / Language Trainer.
I was hired as part of the translation team for the preparation of translations and documents for the Fifth European Conference for Sustainable Cities in Europe. I was required to provide accurate translations from Spanish into English. Junior Translator / Language Trainer.
Following an interview and selection process, I was hired as a junior translator as part of the Leonardo Da Vinci E.U training and vocational scheme http://www.leonardo.org.uk/I was required to carry out various translations from Italian into English and also to assist the director in finding new customers for the company's database. I also participated In conversation classes with the Italian translators to help them maintain a good level of English.

Language Trainer
I have worked as a private English teacher and translator, advertising in local papers and internet sites for the last 7 years. I have taught children as young as 5 up to senior citizens. I've had excellent results and references available from University Teachers, Lawyers, Doctors, High-Court Judges and Government Officials.
Other Skills
I feel that I have excellent classroom and student-teacher interpersonal skills. After many years of working with a multitude of English teaching resources and grammar books, I am able to respond to student questions using a clear and methodical approach. I do not use my foreign language skills or any type of “translation” whilst teaching. I have a friendly but firm approach to teaching and I try and get the class to interact as much as possible during my lessons. |
