Thesis: The role of orthodox and political religion in modern authoritarianism: A comparison of Mussolini’s Italy and Suharto’s Indonesia.
The study undertook a heuristic approach in analysing the nature of totalitarian ideology. In juxtaposing Mussolini’s Italy with Suharto’s Indonesia, which I assert had the characteristics of a functioning totalitarian state, a generic fascist paradigm was established which cold be used to assess fascism and/or totalitarianism within the post modernist era.
