Summary

I am dedicated and strongly motivated individual, who is now seeking to begin a teaching career in a foreign country.  I consider myself to a very confident and open person (helped by my work in sales), allowing me to fit in well within a team, and to speak freely in front of large groups of people.  I am also an exceptionally fast learner, enabling me to quickly fulfil, and then exceed the expectations of my role.

Career History & Accomplishments

Salesman, The Carphone Warehouse.

·         Achieved award for highest earning salesman in my region (consisting of approximately 22 stores).

·         Continued to develop an exceptional product knowledge in mobile technology.

·         Developed several strong sales techniques.

2007 - Present

Communications Controller, Select Plant Hire.

·         Select is a fleet company that supplies construction companies with essential products and services.

·         Recruited as an assistant, I was quickly promoted to overall control of the radio department, making me sole point of contact for two-way radio requirements.

·         Also assisted the mobile phone department and liaised regularly with our suppliers, our contract holders and Ofcom.

·         Worked to a fixed budget and strict deadlines in a high-stress environment.

2003 - 2005

Salesman (Seconded Manager), Orange Retail.

·         As a salesman, I excelled with Orange, and worked my way up to Gold level pay (a payment structure that reviewed individual performance before determining a salary).

·         Was made acting manager while the store recruited from outside the company.  I held this position for six months.

2001 - 2003

Teaching/Other Skills

·           I have completed a Teaching Associate Scheme within a local high-school, as part of a University program.  The course included a week of teacher training, followed by two months of full-time work in class.  During this time I conducted supervised classes following my own lesson plans, set home-work based on class content and become familiar with the day to day responsibilities of a teacher. ·           I completed a one year high-school mentoring program.  This program saw me act as a mentor for individuals aged between 11-16 who wanted help with workloads, their future opportunities or school life in general. The program consisted of one visit per week of approx 3-4 hours. (Certificate available)

·           I have tutored members of my family, and assisted with all areas of their academic learning.

·           I can touch-type an average of 90wpm.

·           I have a professional phone manner and make use of the phonetic alphabet.

·           I am proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.

·          I have constructed my own computers, and am confident with replacing hardware components.

·          I am experienced with both JAVA and HTML programming languages

·          I am currently learning spoken Mandarin, however this is still very much a work in progress!
