English language Teacher, Dahua Training Centre, Huizhou, Guangdong, China
Teaching English in and outside the language centre, primarily in kindergartens around Huizhou. My students also include a young adult currently studying to take the IELTS academic exam in January. Duties include devising my own curriculum and lesson plans.

Devised and gave interactive and lively English lessons to students of 3-5 years old in a private Thai school. This also included after school arts and craft activities.

Designed and taught a variety of classes to adults from beginner to intermediate level, as well as one-to-one lessons. Skills focused on were reading, listening and speaking.

Part of a team of ‘Programme Coordinators’ installing an English Speaking Programme within Hong Kong colleges. I created and implemented a timetable of English activities and events in a Chinese-medium college where I was the sole native English speaker.

Teaching conversation and pronunciation to young learners in classes of 5-15
January – February 2011; Sadhana Forest Reforestation Project, Tamil Nadu, India: planting indigenous species in the forest, gardening, assistant-chef in the kitchen, supervising the recycling system, and teaching English to local children.
October 13th – 27th 2009; VangViang Organic Farm, Laos: Involved in various projects provided by the farm including giving English lessons in local primary schools and building mud houses.
April – May 2008; Tutor and Project Leader of a 6 week English language course for young offenders in Hong Kong. Designing and giving fun English activities for young Hong Kong men.

Recent Activities
For the recent years I have used my time to travel in countries of Asia and gain knowledge of Asian cultures, whilst learning new skills such as rock climbing, Muay Thai and Thai massage and have had photographs and articles published in a travel magazine . I regard travel as an enormous learning experience and feel it has helped me develop both professionally and personally. |
