For the last seven years I have been working in education, in both university and language centre settings. My extensive experience is almost equally divided in two phases: working with teenagers and adults, and working with children. In my current role, I specialize in early literacy, ensuring children develop phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, and sight word recognition, through a variety of play-based activities; however, I also work with children up to the age of twelve, assisting them to improve their spoken and written English, and preparing them for the demanding Primary School Leaving Exam (PSLE) in Singapore.

Organisational Skills Since July 2008, I have been teaching literacy in Singapore to children from ages four to eleven. I have been thrilled to be a part of their developmental milestones, and recently wrote and conducted a three-day workshop for children integrating English language skills and emotional intelligence.
A crucial part of the job is building rapport with students and their parents at the initial assessment and throughout the years they spend under my care.
Caring for more than one hundred students a week and writing reports for them all every three months requires outstanding organisational skills and good record-keeping. Singapore

Student Evaluation As the Teacher Manager at Goro Language School, my responsibilities extended beyond the classroom into a variety of other areas, including customer relations and satisfaction, teacher involvement and performance, and business development. (Jul 2006 – May 2008)
Employed as a foreign teacher at Shijiazhuang College in China, I taught in two main subject areas: ‘Oral English’, and ‘A General Survey of the UK and USA: a Contrastive Approach’. (Feb 2005 –Jul 2006); and demonstrated effective group management in small gatherings of two and three and crowds of a hundred or more students.
University Education
I have received a well-rounded university education. Having studied in fields of both humanities and engineering, I have a good understanding of mathematical and scientific concepts, and am able to communicate with precision in written and spoken English. Excellent results for a Masters in Organisational Leadership demonstrate a clear conceptual understanding of organisational structure and function, and the ability to develop a business plan and an organisational change strategic plan, giving me an extra dimension that may prove valuable to your organisation.
