Education: I have completed two years of University in the Bachelor of Education program at Grant MacEwan University. I finished my second year this April, and I have taken five courses that are relevant to teaching English: English 102, English 103, PROW 210(professional writing), EDFX-200 (profession of teaching), and Educational Psychology 200.
I plan on taking a TESOL course when I arrive in China.
I acquired my High School diploma from Salisbury Composite High School in 2008.
Relevant Experiences: 2011 Last semester, I taught English at ShiYanZhongXue in Tianjin. I taught 20 classes each week. The classes were 45 minutes long. I taught 10 grade 7 classes each week and 10 grade 8 classes each week. I usually had an assistant, but I taught many classes without one. Half way through the semester, my company gave my students an evaluation form about my performance as a teacher. My average mark out of 100 was 93. I feel I am a great teacher, and so did my students. I was never late for a single class. 2007-Present I work at a multi-million dollar company called Paragon Soils. I am called into work when the company needs some extra help during busy seasons. Some of the tasks they ask me to do are: proof read reports, landscaping work, and office maintenance. 2008-2010 I have worked at a sheet metal company called Arpi’s North full time, every summer since I have graduated High School. My job required me to aid in the construction of commercial heating. This was accomplished by: making vents, installing the vents, and installing the furnaces or fans. The reason why I believe this is a relevant experience is because it demonstrates hard work. Construction in Canada is a very hard working environment. In addition, construction workers are required to be very responsible.
