As a Team Leader in a start up organisation the role gave me an opportunity to implement my organisational and leadership skills. My responsibilities included marketing the company in Sheffield from its launch, establishing roles and duties for my team of five staff and the recruitment of new staff. The business was aimed at both corporate and residential customers. My duties included creating a business map of Sheffield, canvassing local businesses and managing on-street promotional activities. As team leader I was responsible for preparing weekly schedules, reports and pay invoices.
October 2005 - October 2007;
Barman / Supervisor, Part time, MAGNA, Rotherham.
This role required commitment, long shifts, high levels of service and leadership of the team to ensure bespoke corporate events were run successfully. In this role I was able to manage my team to deliver excellent levels of customer service. The challenge was to motivate the staff to work cohesively as a team. I gained knowledge and experience of events management, in particular the importance of time management, team motivation and gauging customer satisfaction.

Interests:
I was a Director of a successful Young Enterprise company involved in events management, which gave me valuable knowledge into the running of a business and the need for good communication and interaction between everyone involved.
I volunteered at a turtle conservation project in Kefalonia, Greece over the summer of 2006. Organising night patrols and distributing information to visitors. The team were camping in very basic conditions it was great opportunity for teambuilding and building communication skills. I also assisted with a number of legal issues that enabled me to see the interaction between businesses and the environment.
I enjoy being outdoors and am keen on cycling, running and swimming. I have also been through scouts and played for sports teams in football, badminton and swimming. When relaxing I enjoy listening to music and socialising.
